I write this letter when I am in Melbourne. I want to greet you and say few words in regard with our subject. As I said that the English subject is comprised by two big parts. The first is grammar review by Pak Jejen and the second is methodology which is my part.
In grammar review you will have English knowledge to be based for your future teaching when you become primary school teachers, hopefully after you graduate and be appointed as primary school teachers. So, it is a must for you all to have a grammar knowledge to teach your students. Your grammar knowledge should be rich. It is because you are the model for your students. Not only a model but also you set as examples and idol for them. Mastering grammar is a way for you to be confident teachers in front of your students.
English teaching methodology is obligatory to be mastered by you. You will become primary school teachers and will inspire your students. Your method can make a great difference. They understand your teaching if you know their sociology and psychology of how they learn language. We have already discussed in the class that children succeded in learning language. It was a great success ever ! They learn the grammar even via their mother; although she did not label it . The intensive interaction between mother and a child is a key success to learn language was key success.
Other thing that I want to talk with you is that language is easily learn when it is enjoyable, free from intimidation, feed back flowing, suit with children need, elaborate all children senses: seeing, touching, feeling, use games and songs, etc.
At this moment, I want you to browse from the internet any articles telling the importance of games and songs for teaching children. You can start discuss it at the comment on the box under. Now it is time that you make fruitful or valuable comment. Pls do not produce private or personal ideas. I want you to raise up formal opinion and show your understanding to the subject.
